The Legend of Matariki

Long long ago, there were three brothers and four girls. They liked  Matariki because they liked to lie to people.
One sunny Saturday, they lied to heaps of people, by saying, "We're better then you."
Havana said happy birthday and she rushed into the fancy kitchen to grab the scrumptious and colourful cake. Nia pulled them by their hair.
All of the naughty kids said, "Hi!"
Mr Teddy Bear said, "Seven of you must leave."
They would do that every day and night. They shouted. Havana had an idea.
They huddled up then Havana said, "Let's pull his pants,"  so they followed her plan.
Sabriye said, "However will we do that!"
"Yeah!" shouted Brylie and Porter.
Waylon screeched, "I love to bite so you'd better be scared, Teddy Bear."
He said, "I must warn you."
Grason said, "Chit chat chit."
Ted left.
The second day, it was foggy outside.
Brylie said, "Where is everyone?"
Right at that moment, a flash of light struck. A net flung onto them. The naughty kids were scared.
"Don't lie or you will end badly!" yelled Mr Teddy Bear. "Mr Teddy Bear, please don't hurt us!" the poor kids said. He twisted and twisted and threw the seven of them up into the sky.
"Hooray!" the people cheered.
All of the villagers said, "Thank you, Mr Teddy Bear."
He said, "You're welcome."
That night, they celebrated the day called Matariki. You see them late May and early June.

Pet Day

WALT make up a story about a Pet Day problem.
WWBSWW:
  • Begin with an orientation to tell the reader who, did what, where and when.
“Pet Day will be on Friday,” Miss Anderson, Tom’s teacher, announced to the class on Monday. “Bring your pet to school and tell us about it, then we will have a pet parade.”
Tom was so excited. He would be able to bring Harry to school to
show everyone.
  • Write the events leading up to the problem.
At the end of the day, he ran all the way home to get his pet ready for Friday.
He loved Harry and had wanted to show his friends for a long time, but his mum and dad had told him that Harry must never leave the house; but, now, his
teacher had given him permission to bring it to school.
Smilingly, he polished Harry’s green silky skin, talking to it with his friendly voice. “You’re allowed to come to school, Harry. You can meet my friends and my friends can meet you.”
As soon as Friday came around, Harry carefully took Harry out of its cage and placed him into his black backpack. He couldn’t wait to get to school, so he ran
all the way.
When the bell rang, he and the rest of the class stepped into the
classroom.
  • Write the problem.
Tom opened his backpack to show his friends what he had brought to school for Pet Day.
“It’s a green, slippery, slimey …...................” he said slowly. “Snake!” he
shouted.
“Tom Denver, give me that thing right now!” Miss Anderson
commanded.
Tom opened his hand to pass it over, but, at that moment, naughty Billy Burton lunged to grab it himself. He bumped Tom’s shoulder and Tom hurtled forward, the snake flying out of his hand to the back of the classroom.
“Eeeeeee! Where is it?” squealed Miss Anderson.
Chaos threatened in Room 4.  Children jumped up and ran around, screeching
their lungs out and pushing over chairs and desks, trying to find Tom’s snake.

  • Write the events to tell your readers how the problem was solved.
Tom had an idea. He gathered some things around the class. He got scissors, cords to tie, glue, paper, wire and the teacher’s lunch. He set up the bits and pieces into a trap.

All of the kids ran on their chairs. They started to be quiet and still.

The snake slithered on the carpet and followed the track of the ham sandwich. He nibbled the sandwich.

Tom sneaked. He pulled the cord - bang!

Miss Anderson said, “Never bring that snake!”

“Ok,” said Tom.

Well done, Brylie.
-      Can you think of better word than got?
-      Can you think of a better way of telling us how the children got onto their chairs?
-      Begin a new paragraph each time a different character does something.

The Magic Show

Johnathan was a  magician. He stomped into the hall. He swallowed a balloon. It was impossible. My eyes went on fire. We cheered and, when he opened his wallet, it was on fire.
When he told Riley that he could make a balloon for her, he said anything and she said a giraffe. He did the opposite so, instead of doing a giraffe, he did a dog.
After that, he did card tricks and he said, "Who likes card tricks?"
We all said, "Me!" in excitement and he said, "Sorry, we're not doing a card show today."
We all said, "Oh," but he was doing it.
Next, it was time for Johnathan to go. We clapped and cheered. We said a thank you and we were glad to see the magic show.
We all had to get out of the hall. We we eat after that we  played busted i was in. The bell ringed RING! RING! we all lined up  out of the hall. Is this part of the Magic Show? Leave it out.
The title of the next show was called YOU GOT THE POWER. My favourite part was when El Gregoe was flying. That was impossible. My eyes were like fire.
when the bell ringed RING! RING! we all had to go but we our teacher read us a book it was called the present for Christmas  when that finished. We drove to the super market and my Mum got food for dinner and got milk then we drove back home. Is this part of the Magic Show? Leave it out.

The Birthday of the Church

The Church is people spreading the Good News about Jesus.
Before Pentecost,  the followers of Jesus were hiding  in their houses because Jesus got arrested and they didn’t want to be. They  saw flames on their heads. They felt wind in the air then they got  courage from the Holy Spirit to spread  the Good News.
The Holy Spirit helped the the helpers spread the Good News of Jesus. This was the day of Pentecost. This was the beginning of the Church, the Church's birthday.

Hanging out with my mum

My mum and I went to a cafe because there was no food at my house.
Mum picked up the keys and we drove off. We parked the car.
When we got out of the car, it was foggy outside. Across the road, there was mini golf.
We walked into the cafe. Mum ordered  chips and sweet chilli sauce. I ordered  pancakes and Milo with marshmallows.
When we had finished, we walked back outside and opened the door. We sat down and drove back home. My mum is the loveliest person I have ever met.
My favourite part was when I was eating with my Mum.
